At Portland Kung Fu, we teach the Ving Tsun (pronounced Wing Chun) training system, using the same traditional methods that have been handed down through the generations.

Ving Tsun is characterized by it’s efficient use of motion and directed force. There’s no high kicks, or complex feats of athleticism. Just straight forward, simple self-defense techniques designed for everyday people in everyday life.

Through Ving Tsun training, practitioners develop their power, speed, and coordination, as well as awareness, discipline, and relaxation.

The best way to learn more about Ving Tsun kung fu is to try it for yourself. Our introductory lesson is the perfect way to see what kung fu is all about!

The introductory lesson is a half-hour private lesson where we’ll go over the basic tools and exercises of the Ving Tsun training system. It’s a great place to get answers to any questions you may have.

The drills and exercises of Ving Tsun are designed to condition the body to be faster, stronger, and more coordinated. Kung fu conditioning is also a fun & interesting workout.
